A North Korean woman captured in the South during the Korean War died Monday at the age of 95, never realizing her wish to return to the DPRK.

Ri Tu Hwa was one of a handful of unconverted political prisoners held in South Korea since the signing of the armistice that ended active fighting. She passed away from old age at a nursing home in Gwangju, the political organization Chumo Yeondae confirmed to NK News on Wednesday.
