North Korean leader Kim Jong Un appears to be sidestepping the spotlight in some official propaganda, as authorities have recently replaced a key slogan of his written on large, red flag-shaped signs nationwide with a message referencing the ruling party instead.

The broad shift comes as a symbol representing Kim Jong Un’s military leadership was also replaced this spring by the symbol of the Workers’ Party of Korea (WPK) and a party-centric slogan in permanent propaganda signs displayed in key locations in Pyongyang.

So far, NK Newshas confirmed at least eight locations where slogans on the signs were changed
