Sushi chef Kenji Fujimoto’s restaurant in Pyongyang is still open for business, multiple diners who ate there recently told NK News, despite Japanese media claims it had closed in June.

Furthermore, Fujimoto was spotted serving clients at the “Takahashi” restaurant, one recent diner said, suggesting reports that claim Fujimoto has been detained or is missing are inaccurate.

A second diner said that while they didn’t see Fujimoto working at the restaurant, a large photo of him preparing sushi continues to hang on one side of the restaurant – suggesting it is unlikely he has run into problems with authorities.
