How do students make money in North Korea?

For North Koreans, money used to be nothing more than a piece of paper that could be used to exchange for merchandise. In fact, there were more things that money couldn’t buy, which is why money wasn’t considered that useful in the 1980s and early 1990s. A husband would work where assigned by the government and receive food supplies in return.
