News North Korea fires multiple close-range ballistic missiles westward: SeoulDPRK missile test reportedly from western region also involved launch of other types of projectiles
North Korea launched “various projectiles” including a close-range ballistic missile from the northwestern part of the country into the Yellow Sea on Tuesday, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS). The missile test took place at around 1 p.m. KST from “somewhere in Jongju, North Phyongan Province,” the JCS said. At least one North Korean missile was detected flying a distance of 50 miles (80 km), the JCS said, adding that it is still assessing the data and sharing information with Tokyo and Washington.
