South Korea’s opposition party has blamed President Yoon Suk-yeol for pushing North Korea to deploy troops to Russia by downplaying diplomacy, calling for Pyongyang to withdraw the troops but also slamming alleged plans to send an ROK monitoring team to Ukraine.

Following Seoul’s assessment that the DPRK has deployed troops to support Russia’s invasion, the majority Democratic Party (DP) has criticized Yoon’s foreign policy focus on deterring the DPRK as “incompetent diplomacy,” claiming it led Pyongyang closer to Russia.
