North Korea conducted “regular” tests of new cruise and anti-aircraft missiles on Friday, according to state media, the first such launches in over two months.

“The DPRK Missile Administration has conducted a power test of a super-large warhead designed for the ‘Hwasal-1Ra-3’ strategic cruise missile … in the West Sea of Korea in the afternoon of April 19” from a transporter erector launcher (TEL) vehicle, the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) reported Saturday.

It also tested the “‘Pyoljji-1-2’ new-type anti-aircraft missile” from a mobile TEL. KCNA said unspecified “relevant goals were achieved” in both tests.
