The drills ran from Monday and Friday and were separate from the two-week Freedom Shield exercises that ran until Thursday, according to an ROK air force release. The training focused on shooting down low-altitude cruise missiles from North Korea and striking the bases launching long-range artillery. South Korean and U.S. fighter jets conducted a series of live-fire exercises with an array of different missiles and bombs this week, training to intercept North Korean cruise missiles and carry out precision strikes on enemy artillery, the ROK air force announced Friday.

The drills ran from Monday and Friday and were separate from the two-week Freedom Shield exercises that ran until Thursday, according to an ROK air force release.
