US sanctions Russian ship to ‘disrupt’ weapons trade with North Korea

Washington designates fourth ship and companies involved in alleged arms shipping operation that’s still ongoing

The U.S. has sanctioned more Russian companies and cargo ships in an effort to “disrupt” alleged weapons trade with North Korea, the State Department announced Tuesday.

One ship named Maria is the final vessel Washington has sanctioned out of four that NK News has identified as involved in a new Russia-North Korea shipping operation ongoing since August. The U.S. says the operation involves trade of DPRK “military equipment and munitions.”
