South Korean civic and military agencies conducted drills on Wednesday simulating a range of North Korean attacks on Seoul, including drone incursions, artillery shellings, biochemical attacks and terrorism.

The multi-agency training exercise took place almost exactly a year to the day since multiple North Korean unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) crossed the inter-Korean border and infiltrated the Seoul metropolitan area. 

The ROK military — including the Capital Defense Command (CDC) — failed to effectively coordinatea prompt response, and this week’s drill appeared to be an attempt to improve readiness and reassure the public that the military can handle any threats
