South Korea sanctioned North Korea’s chief spy and seven other officials for arms trade and illegal cyber activities on Wednesday, measures taken in response to the DPRK’s launch of an intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) last week.

The ROK foreign ministry said in a statement on Wednesday that the sanctioned individuals “engaged in illicit cyber activities and technology theft, as well as sanctioned trade, including weapons” to bankroll the North Korean regime and its nuclear and missile programs.

The designated DPRK nationals include:

• Ri Chang Ho, head of the Korean People’s Army’s General Reconnaissance Bureau
• Pak Yong Han, head of Beijing
