The entourage of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un used new passenger vans made by American brand Ford during his visit to air force headquarters on Thursday, according to NK News analysis of state media photos.

The appearance of two fourth-generation Ford Transit vans manufactured since 2021 is Pyongyang’s latest demonstration of its ability to evade U.N. sanctions, which have prohibited the transfer of all transportation vehicles to North Korea since 2017.
