North Korea to shutter embassy in Nepal, at least fifth closure in recent weeks

DPRK ambassador blames ‘recession’ and geopolitical changes, as expert says Pyongyang increasingly looking inward

North Korea has decided to shut down its embassy in Nepal, the Nepalese foreign ministry has confirmed to NK News, at least the fifth in a series of DPRK mission closures in recent weeks.

DPRK Ambassador Jo Yong Man informed Nepalese Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal of the decision to shutter the embassy in Kathmandu in a meeting earlier this week, according to the foreign ministry.
