Yoon spars with predecessor, criticizing ‘fake peace’ with nuclear North Korea

South Korean president condemns promotion of end-of-war declaration, as Moon Jae-in speaks out on inter-Korean policy

South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol criticized the promotion of “fake peace” by those who seek an end-of-war declaration with North Korea on Wednesday, years after his predecessor pursued such a deal.

Yoon’s remark came hours after former President Moon Jae-in issued a statement criticizing the current administration’s North Korea policy, accusing Yoon of making no efforts for inter-Korean dialogue.
