North Korea says Putin accepted invite to Pyongyang as Kim continues Russia tour

Two sides pledged to improve ties to ‘new heights’ after summit at space launch facility, DPRK state media reports

Russian leader Vladimir Putin accepted an invitation by North Korean leader Kim Jong Un to visit Pyongyang, according to a DPRK state media report on meetings between the two in Russia the previous day.

The Rodong Sinmun reported Thursday that the exchange came during a banquet held after Putin gave Kim a tour of the Vostochny Cosmodrome space launch facility in the Far East on Wednesday. Neither side elaborated on when a North Korea visit may occur.
