North Korean embassies to open doors for events for first time during pandemic

Multiple missions to hold receptions for founding anniversary, in what expert calls move to revive global engagement

Multiple North Korean diplomatic missions are hosting receptions to mark the 75th anniversary of the country’s founding this month, multiple informed sources told NK News, in what appears to be a concerted effort to revive public events in the wake of prolonged inactivity during the pandemic.

The DPRK’s embassies in Berlin, Bangkok, Singapore and Beijing, as well as its U.N. missions in New York and Geneva are opening their doors to celebrate the anniversary, sources told NK News.
