North Korea will ‘pay a price’ for arms sales to Russia, top US official says

Remarks follow reports of looming meeting between Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin, which White House didn’t confirm

A top U.S. official warned North Korea will “pay a price” if it sells weapons to Russia on Tuesday, following reports that DPRK leader Kim Jong Un will soon meet Vladimir Putin for arms talks.

During a press briefing at the White House, U.S. National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan repeated claims from a joint statement last week that negotiations between the two countries on North Korean weapons sales to Russia for the war in Ukraine were “actively advancing.”
