North Korea fires late-night ballistic missiles after US submarine visits South

Launch of two short-range projectiles follows DPRK warnings last week against US-ROK military activities

North Korea launched two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea (Sea of Japan), South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said just after midnight Tuesday.

The DPRK launched the missiles from the Pyongyang region between 11:55 p.m. and midnight on Monday, both flying around 250 miles (400 km), JCS said.
