North Korea rushed satellite launch after seeing ROK rocket success, Seoul says

South Korean spy agency assesses Kim Jong Un likely watched failed launched and that 2nd attempt could be weeks away

North Korea’s satellite launch on Wednesday failed because it rushed preparations in response to South Korea’s successful rocket launch last week, according to South Korea’s intelligence agency.

The National Intelligence Service (NIS) shared the assessment during a closed-door session with the National Assembly’s Intelligence Committee on Wednesday, according to committee member Yu Sang-beom.
