North Korea points finger at Zelenskyy after Kakhovka dam collapse

Experts say statement backing Russian narrative seeks to curry favor with Moscow as Ukraine war drags on

North Korean state media took another shot at Ukraine on Friday, insinuating that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy is responsible for destroying the Kakhovka dam and imperiling food supplies in the region.

The Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) published the statement under the name O Song Jin, a researcher from the state-run Institute of International Studies, suggesting Kyiv had engineered the collapse in a bid to accuse Russia of war crimes.
