North Korean weapons could be contributing to bloodshed in Sudan, experts say

East African nation has bought DPRK arms in past, and video of North Korean weapon has surfaced since conflict started

The outbreak of violent conflict between the Sudanese army and a rival paramilitary group this month has left hundreds dead and the East African country on the verge of civil war. And experts say that North Korean arms are likely playing a role in the bloodshed.

On Thursday, a military blogger posted a video that allegedly shows a North Korean BM-11 Multiple Rocket Launcher (MRL) that the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces captured from the Sudanese army. While NK News could not independently verify when the video was first uploaded, the BM-11 is one of several North Korean weapons known to be in the Sudanese military’s arsenal.
