North Korea harnessing network of overseas workers to fund weapons programs: US

Joint statement with Seoul and Tokyo calls for immediate deportation of such workers and compliance with UN sanctions

The Kim Jong Un regime continues to leverage a network of North Korean nationals abroad to raise funds for its weapons programs, according to a joint statement from the U.S., South Korea and Japan that calls on all countries to repatriate these individuals immediately.

The statement, signed by North Korea policy pointmen Sung Kim, Kim Gunn and Takehiro Funakoshi after a two-day meeting in Seoul, also underscores the severity of North Korean cyberattacks in recent months.
