North Korean leader Kim Jong Un reviewed “frontline attack operation plans” while pointing to areas of South Korea on a map at a high-level military meeting Monday, according to state media.

The Rodong Sinmun reported that top military officials at a Central Military Commission (CMC) meeting the previous day also discussed “expanding more practically and offensively our war deterrent,” appearing to refer to nuclear weapons.

The meeting was held in response to recent U.S.-South Korea military exercises, which the report called “provocative invasion war schemes.”
