North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles (SRBMs) on Monday morning, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

It marks the 11th known missile launch event of the year and seventh this month, after Pyongyang described its recent tests as warnings to the U.S. and ROK to stop “provocative” joint military drills.

JCS said the launches occurred at around 7:47 a.m. and 8 a.m. KST from the Junghwa area of North Hwanghae Province, located just south of Pyongyang, and that the missiles flew around 230 miles (370 km) before landing in the East Sea (Sea of Japan).
