North Korea fires short-range missiles after large-scale US-ROK drills kick off

South Korean military says it detected two ballistic missiles launched eastward from west coast on Tuesday morning

North Korea fired two ballistic missiles Tuesday morning, according to South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).

The launch comes a day after the start of large-scale Freedom Shield U.S.-ROK joint military drills, and two days after North Korea appeared to test long-range cruise missiles from a submarine for the first time.
