UK reports trade with North Korea doubled last year despite border closures

London attributes trade spike to increase in services imports by DPRK but doesn’t provide further details

Total trade in goods and services between North Korea and the U.K. reached $127 million over a 12-month period ending last year, the U.K. government confirmed to NK News on Wednesday, more than double the amount during the previous period.

But questions remain about what exactly the U.K. sent and received to and from the DPRK and whether the transactions may have violated international sanctions against the regime.
