North Korea must make a “fundamental change in agricultural production within the next few years,” leader Kim Jong Un reportedly said on the second day of an ongoing major party meeting on Monday, underscoring the country’s chronic food supply problems.
A brief report in party daily Rodong Sinmun on Tuesday did not go into detail on what changes Kim had in mind, but stated that he told party plenum attendees to create a new “foundation for stable and sustainable agricultural development.”
