UN Command investigating armistice violations after North Korean drone intrusion

Seoul has balked at accusations that its response also violated Korean War armistice, claiming right to self-defense

The United Nations Command (UNC) is investigating inter-Korean drone intrusions that occurred last month, after North Korea flew five drones into ROK airspace and South Korea responded by sending its own unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) into the DPRK.

The ongoing inquiry, confirmed by NK News on Monday, comes as critics in South Korea have accused Seoul’s response of breaching the Korean War Armistice Agreement.
