Singapore charges Pokka manager with selling $1M of canned drinks to North Korea

Court records indicate contraband products followed similar route into DPRK as luxury goods sold from city-state in past

Singaporean authorities have charged a manager from the local branch of the company Pokka with illegally selling US$1 million of canned coffee and milk beverages to North Korea, court documents seen by NK News show.

The sales manager Phua Sze Hee, 59, allegedly processed around 1.3 million Singaporean dollars worth of orders on behalf of Pokka International Pte. Ltd (PIN), despite knowing that local companies would ultimately export the products to the DPRK via third countries in violation of Singaporean law, according to court documents.
