North Korea to ‘maintain’ line against US as Kim Jong Un sets new military goals

DPRK leader emphasizes struggle against enemy and talks ideological issues on second day of year-end party plenum

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un set “new core targets” for military development and said Pyongyang will “maintain” a struggle against enemy states in the new year, according to a state media report on the second day of an ongoing party plenum held Tuesday.

Wednesday’s brief report in the Rodong Sinmun hinted that the final report could include significant detail about the North Korean leader’s foreign policy plans for 2023, including its stance toward the U.S. and South Korea.
