South Korea recovers likely North Korean missile debris from East Sea

The remnant of a short-range missile fired last week may provide key insights into DPRK weapons development

South Korea fished up debris likely from a short-range ballistic missile that North Korea fired across the inter-Korean maritime border last week, Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said on Monday.

A salvage vessel embarked last Friday to recover remnants from the missile after it flew south of the Northern Limit Line two days earlier, splashing down near South Korean waters east of the city of Sokcho.
