Yoon says North Korean artillery fire breached inter-Korean military agreement

Presidential office says future of 2018 deal will depend on DPRK’s ‘attitude,’ as some lawmakers call for scraping it

North Korean artillery drills near the inter-Korean border early Friday morning breached the 2018 military agreement between the two Koreas, South Korean President Yoon Suk-yeol said the same day.

But Yoon’s office said whether or not Seoul scraps the Comprehensive Military Agreement (CMA) signed in Sept. 2018 will “depend on North Korea’s attitude,” after previously stating that Pyongyang had violated the deal twice.
