An Australian frigate has joined efforts to surveil ships smuggling sanctioned goods to and from North Korea, the latest deployment designed to clamp down on illicit maritime activities.
The HMAS Arunta will visit unspecified waters to monitor “illegal ship-to-ship transfers of sanctioned goods bound for North Korea” as part of Operation ARGOS, Australia’s Department of Defence announced Friday.
