US to lead anti-submarine drills to ‘incapacitate’ North Korean provocations

South Korea and Japan to participate in trilateral drills to track and counter DPRK submarines

The U.S., South Korea and Japan will conduct large-scale anti-submarine warfare exercises on Friday in the wake of growing North Korean missile threats, the ROK Navy announced on Thursday.

The announcement comes as the U.S and ROK militaries conclude joint naval exercises involving the USS Ronald Reagan aircraft carrier on Thursday. North Korea fired two short-range ballistic missiles into the East Sea in the middle of the drills.
