U.S. President Joe Biden accused North Korea of “blatantly” violating international sanctions despite Washington’s efforts to restart bilateral talks, briefly mentioning DPRK issues in a major speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Wednesday.

But experts said Biden’s remarks largely ignored North Korea in a departure from Donald Trump’s speeches at the U.N., stating that this reflects the intractability of Pyongyang’s nuclear and missile programs.

“Despite our efforts to begin serious and sustained diplomacy, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea continues to blatantly violate U.N. sanctions,” Biden said in his speech.
