Incoming South Korea president visits US military base after Washington says it’s ‘prepared’ for more DPRK weapons tests

South Korean president-elect Yoon Suk-yeol visited the largest U.S. military base in the country on Thursday, meeting U.S. Forces Korea (USFK) Commander Paul LaCamera and other U.S. military officials to discuss alliance and deterrence against North Korean missile threats.

The meeting at Camp Humphreys, about an hour south of Seoul, comes amid heightened expectations that North Korea will continue to weapons testing in the near future and a week after Washington and Seoul agreed to update alliance wartime operation plans (OPLANs).
