Seoul voices ‘deep regret’ over North Korea’s efforts to dismantle Hyundai hotel

Hyundai Asan tells NK News that it’s working with unification ministry to protect its assets at scenic Mount Kumgang

Hyundai Asan has called for the protection of its assets in North Korea after the unification ministry expressed “deep regret” on Friday over Pyongyang’s “unilateral” decision to dismantle the company’s floating hotel at the scenic Mount Kumgang.

The company, a branch of the South Korean conglomerate Hyundai Group, told NK News that it is closely coordinating with the ministry to address Pyongyang’s efforts to remove the Haegumgang Hotel, stressing that the two Koreas should make decisions about the inter-Korean tourism zone through dialogue since they pursued the project “together.”
