European Union sanctions 12 people and entities linked to DPRK weapons program

North Korea’s intercontinental ballistic missile test last month compelled action from Brussels, said one EU diplomat

The European Union slapped new sanctions on eleven North Korean individuals and entities on Thursday in response to the DPRK’s intercontinental ballistic missile (ICBM) and other weapons tests this year.

The eighth North Koreans and three entities, along with one other Eritrean entity, join 65 other North Korean and other nationals already sanctioned by the EU and over a dozen entities whose funds are frozen by European authorities for supporting Pyongyang’s weapons programs.
