UNICEF says aid has cleared North Korea quarantine, on its way for distribution

The items were released after being stuck in DPRK port city for more than two months of quarantine

Humanitarian aid for the most vulnerable in North Korea has finally cleared monthslong quarantine in the country and is on its way to distribution, a U.N. Children’s Fund (UNICEF) spokesperson told NK News on Thursday.

This comes after the agency in Oct. 2021 said that sanctions-exempted aid items sent by the agency reached North Korea’s western Nampho port after being stuck for almost a year in Dalian, China due to North Korea’s sea route closure in 2020.
