Moon Jae-in stresses dialogue hours after North Korea test-fires missile

Expert says Pyongyang likely cares little what Seoul and Washington think as diplomacy unlikely to resume this year

South Korean President Moon Jae-in said that it is important to maintain efforts to restart dialogue with North Korea, hours after Pyongyang tested a missile Wednesday morning.

The single projectile is “presumed to be a ballistic missile” fired from Jagang province near the China-DPRK border toward the East Sea at 8:10 a.m., according to Seoul’s Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS).
