North Korean leader Kim Jong Un recently inspected the production of a “major weapon system,” according to state media on Friday, and also vowed to demolish a military airfield to build a large-scale vegetable greenhouse farm in its place before October 10 this year.

The new visits marked his first public inspection of a military-related factory in over two years and only his second public appearance outside Pyongyang in the last year. 

The Ryonpho airfield near Hamhung will be the second airfield to be replaced by such a farm in recent years, after the Jungphyong Vegetable Greenhouse Farm was built
