North Korean leader Kim Jong Un made a speech about rural development on the second day of an ongoing party plenary meeting Tuesday, according to state media.
In a brief report Wednesday, the Rodong Sinmun said Kim delivered a "historic report of important revolutionary significance in developing the socialist countryside" at the plenum. The DPRK leader has made remodeling select rural cities a priority in recent years, ordering the complete rebuilding of Samjiyon in the northern region into a "model mountainous town" and more recently the remote Komdok valley into a "model mining town."
