US made ‘specific proposals’ to the DPRK in latest attempt to engage regime

State Department says North Korea has not responded, emphasizes Washington’s openness to dialogue

The U.S. State Department said Washington has reached out to North Korea with “specific proposals” after a number of missile tests and a weapon exhibition by Pyongyang this and last month.

Department spokesperson Ned Price said Thursday at a press briefing that the U.S. stands “prepared to meet with the DPRK without preconditions. We have made, in fact, specific proposals to the DPRK, and we will await a response. We will await outreach from the DPRK.”
