‘Reckless interference’ in Taiwan could target North Korea, Pyongyang warns

DPRK signals support for Beijing following the US president’s pledge to defend Taiwan against China

North Korea’s vice foreign minister warned the U.S. that “reckless interference” in the Taiwan issue could escalate tensions on the Korean Peninsula, North Korea’s state-run media reported on Saturday.

Following U.S. President Joe Biden’s stated commitment on Thursday to come to Taiwan’s defense if China attacked, Pak Myong Ho signaled Pyongyang’s support for China and raised the possibility that any American forces dispatched to Taiwan could be also aimed at Pyongyang.
