South Korea announces successful ballistic missile launch from submarine

Underwater launch follows North Korean ballistic missile tests and makes ROK eighth country with an SLBM

South Korea successfully completed an undersea test of a submarine-launched ballistic missile (SLBM) on Wednesday afternoon, South Korea’s defense ministry and the Presidential Blue House announced.

South Korean President Moon Jae-in and the country’s defense minister Suh Wook were present for on-site observation during the test conducted by the Agency for Defense Development (ADD), according to a Ministry of National Defense (MND) press release.
