North Korean state media is warning citizens of the deadly potential of an ongoing heat wave, amid dangerously high temperatures in areas of the country lacking regular access to electricity and air conditioning.

The warning comes as countries around the world have reported unusually high numbers of deaths from extreme heat attributed to the worsening effects of climate change.
