A $4 billion dollar plan to make South Korea’s Incheon International Airport a North Korean travel “hub” has sparked controversy and excitement in some corners of the peninsula. 

Incheon city recently commissioned a feasibility study on the proposal, which explores building or upgrading up to nine airports in North Korea. This could greatly expand what travel operators would be able to offer for tourists to the DPRK.
