Activist’s office raided after alleged anti-North Korea leaflet launch

Park Sang-hak claimed to have launched 500,000 leaflets last week in defiance of the new anti-leaflet law

Police raided North Korean defector-activist Park Sang-hak’s office on Thursday, the Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency confirmed to NK News. Park claimed to have launched 500,000 anti-DPRK leaflets towards North Korea sometime between April 25 and April 29.

Thursday’s raid is the first known police action taken in connection to the controversial ‘anti-leaflet law’ that came into effect in March this year. Park could face up to three years in prison and as much as $27,000 in fines under the current law.
