US official lands in Seoul, says alliance must be ‘ready to fight’ if needed

Defense secretary Lloyd Austin emphasized general “military readiness” and “unprecedented” North Korea issues

Top officials from the U.S. and South Korea vowed to continue working towards “denuclearization of the Korean Peninsula” on Wednesday during their first in-person meeting in Seoul, according to Seoul’s Ministry of National Defense (MND).
