North Korea slams ‘Western countries’ in apparent reference to Atlanta shootings

Experts say that North Korea is leveraging racial issues in the U.S. to deflect from its own human rights abuses

North Korea took aim at “Western countries” for harping on its egregious human rights record, alluding to recent racially-charged crimes in the United States and defending itself as a “socialist paradise.”

Over the weekend, North Korea’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a spate of statements accusing other countries of white supremacy, racial discrimination and violence against women — as well as unfair meddling in DPRK affairs.
